Never heard of soaking in ginger, but drinking Ginger Tea is good for the digestive system, or eating anything with Ginger in it is good for you….for the intestines and colon.
detox foot spa
I would assume so, because one of the main things that ginger does is increase circulation. Michael Tierra recommends it for circulation of both blood and lymph. (Your lymphatic is your body’s main “de-tox” system, by the way.)
It’s also used in old folk remedies in poultices to “pull out” infections.
detox pads
I had really never heard of that until you posted this question so I did some research and I found that it is GREAT for the body…and I found a recipe to do this and some information on what it does for the body …..I thought I would share it with you …and I think I am gonna try this myself tonight ! Thank you for introducing me to this idea
Detoxing Ginger Bath
What You’ll Need:
* 1/8 cup of Ginger (either fresh grated or powder from the supermarket)
* 1 cup of Epsom Salt
* A Vegetable brush (optional)
* Hot bath water
* 30 minutes
What to Do:
Before you jump into your hot ginger bath, brush your skin with a vegetable brush (which can be purchased at any health food store). Brush all parts of the body toward the heart. Skin brushing can be very beneficial because the skin is a primary avenue for detoxification – along with the lungs, kidneys, liver, and colon.
Stir one cup of Epsom salts and the 1/8 cup of Ginger together first then add to running warm water in bath. Get in the bath and turn the water temperature to as hot as you can bear it for 30 minutes. Do not remain in the tub for more than 30 minutes. After about 15 to 20 minutes you will find yourself sweating. I recommend rubbing all areas of your body in clockwise circular motions for a count of 20 in each area while soaking. Rub each breast (great way to ward against cancer) your stomach area, etc. You’ll find that you will get quite uncomfortably “hot and sweaty” so it helps to have some bottle water handy to help flush the toxins out. Lyte CL solution added to your drinking water helps to re-establish the correct mineral balance and helps lessen the flu-like symptoms, not to mention, is a welcome relief to quench your thrist.
After 30 minutes, get out of the tub, dry yourself off rubbing vigorously with a clean towel (until your skin is very red). Then wrap up in a large towel or sheet and crawl into your bed and cover up with your bed covers. You will then usually sweat for approximately an hour and feel really “hot”, but you will fall asleep and have a really solid night’s sleep while your body is ridding itself of impurities through the skin. If you happen to wake up later on and feel the need to, you can place a large dry towel under you and put on a warm robe so that your cover sheet isn’t against you if it is damp. You can adjust to your likes and needs.
It is important not to apply your usual routine post-bath lotions and creams before you go to bed. This includes the face and scalp areas as well. Ladies, it is also recommended that you remove all nail polish from both fingers and toes while detoxing as your nail beds absorb toxins from the paint. Acrylic nails are very toxic and should not be worn at all, especially if you have health issues or joint aches and pains.
How A Ginger Bath Detoxes:
This method really helps literally sweat toxins out of your body. Perspiration will even pour out of your scalp. Because this ginger bath opens pores and eliminates toxins and also helps to eliminate pain, you may experience flu-like symptoms the next day because your body is ridding itself of poisons. It is common to possibly experience a headache and feel almost a slight “hang-over” sensation. If you are feeling really lousy, it is actually a great sign! However, if you really find it unbearable, you can get some relief from these symptoms by taking baths using Epsom salts (1 to 2 cups) and baking soda (1 cup) in a tub of water and soaking for 20 minutes. If you soak more than 20 minutes may cause you to get too exhausted. Repeat this until you start feeling better.
Hope this works ~~~~
