Before even taking on the issue of whether or not your father has a case, make sure that the medical tests taken when your father was admitted to any medical facility or detox program shows that he is clean of drugs and that his alcohol level was not excessive. If he fails in either test category, I think you have to have a heart-to-heart discussion with him, and unfortunately it may turn out that no attorney of your choice will take on this case simply because there is lacking sufficient drug/alcohol testing to support the claim that your dad was not involved in any illegal activity.

These types of lawyers 99.9% of the time take the case on contingency (no fees until they win the case, but may charge a retainer fee.) What I find interesting is he was placed in detox, etc… and no one ever did any blood work? I would also file suit against the girlfriend. This is your dad! I believe you hunny! O I HATE DRUGS! And expecially people like your dad’s girlfriend who are liars. Do what you have to do this is seriouse and i am so sorry for this having to happen to you. I dont know you but im sure you dont deserve this. DO what YOU have to DO!
